Abstract

Despite advances in the job market, women face unique challenges in their career paths. The development of women’s careers is a significant topic for psychologists in vocational and professional guidance, spanning from initial aspirations to progression in the job market. This article discusses vocational psychology education from a gender perspective, highlighting the contribution of academic women in the field of Vocational Psychology. An increasing importance of the gender perspective in understanding women’s vocational behavior was found. A psychologist can adopt a dynamic approach to address women’s challenges in career choice, combating gender stereotypes and highlighting examples of successful women. A degree in Psychology is important for disseminating knowledge in vocational and professional guidance, and should consider the specificities of women’s career development in its curriculum.
