Abstract

This paper presents a qualitative study, developed in a class of undergraduate students in the area of information technology, aiming to explore the potential of WhatsApp as a pedagogical interface for the teaching and learning processes of the subject Information Systems. To do so, the usability of WhatsApp was evaluated by applying a questionnaire compatible with the SUS - System Usability Scale, posted on Google Forms. The SUS questionnaire was applied after the class used WhatsApp to answer, in a collaborative way, questions related to the content of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning of the subject. Four groups of five students were created, and after the work was done, each participant in the group answered the SUS questionnaire. The SUS score of 80.9 made it possible to verify that WhatsApp met, significantly, the usability requirements for carrying out the work, pointing it as a pedagogically viable tool in this research.
