a survey of the scientific productions of researchers in the Natural Sciences at IFPR, Umuarama Campus

Abstract

For many years, the scientific field was dominated by men, with women being silenced or hidden behind male pseudonyms. Despite ongoing discussions on gender issues, the invisibility and silencing of women persist, often as a result of failures or lack of scientific dissemination. Therefore, this article aimed to analyze the curricula of Biology, Geography, and Chemistry researchers at the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR) — Umuarama Campus, to collect and organize data that could facilitate scientific dissemination. This study is qualitative and exploratory. It was conducted using secondary data, based on the Lattes CVs of the faculty members. The analysis revealed a range of scientific outputs developed by researchers at this campus and confirmed the presence of female representation. However, a tendency toward the invisibility of these researchers was also observed, highlighting the need for scientific dissemination of the data collected in this study, as dissemination is key to bringing their work to the attention of the broader community.
