Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic surprised everyone by its quick and easy transmission that occurs through the droplets in the nose or mouth that spread when the infected individual coughs or sneezes. The World Health Organization suggested protective measures as an attempt to minimize the virus transmission as to wash your hands with soap and water and the indication for wearing masks for example. However, some people have difficulty adopting these protective measures, like autistic people, even if the disorder is not considered a risk factor for the contagion of COVID-19. According to these, this study aims to present the development and preliminary tests of a virtual reality tool using video-based intervention to raise awareness of the necessary hygiene label in this pandemic moment. To validate the tool an interaction test was carried out with a health professional. From the results, the potential of the tool in teaching activities to autistic children was realized due to the visual stimuli exercised.
