Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The identification of the author of the work must be removed from the text and from
    the file, thus ensuring the jounal´s confidentiality criteria.
  • The work must be original and not previously published, nor submitted for
    evaluation/publication in another journal.
  • The text must follow the style standards and bibliographic requirements described
    below in "Guidelines for Authors".
  • Guidelines for authors on evaluating originals can be found https://periodicos.ifsul.edu.br/public/CriteriosDeAvaliacao.pdf.
  • To submit originals, after registering as a user, simply access the journal`s system,
    click on "author"; and begin the submission process. Submissions to Thema
    Journal must be made exclusively through this website, in " .docx "; (Microsoft
    Word) or ".odt "; (LibreOffice Writer) files, available below in "Guidelines for
    Authors".
  • If you are unable to upload the file, send a request for uploading to:
     revistathema@ifsul.edu.br.
  • Submissions are accepted in the following formats: scientific article, technical note,
    essay, case study, experience report and review.
  • The identification of all authors must be entered in the appropriate fields on the
    article registration page, including the full name of the author(s), email address,
    institutional affiliation including city and state, link to the Lattes CV (for Brazilian
    authors) and ORCID .
  • The text must not contain information that identifies the author of the work.
  • The work´´s authorship identification must be removed from the file and from the
    "Properties" option.

    In Microsoft Word (.doc files):
    Using the Windows file manager, right-click the file and select:

    Properties > Details > Remove > Properties and Personal Information > Remove
    the following properties from this file: Mark: Authors > Mark: Saved by >OK.

    In LibreOffice Writer (.odt files):
    Open the file in LibreOffice Writer > Click File > Properties... > General > Disable
    the "Use user data" option > Reset properties > OK > File > Save
  • The text must be aligned with the focus and scope of the journal.

Thema is an open access journal, requiring no fees for submission, processing, or access to articles. The journal adheres to the  Budapest Open Access Initiative  (BOAI) definition, meaning users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link directly to the full texts of of the articles published in it. Submissions that do not meet these requirements will be returned to their authors.

Registration in the system and subsequent access, using  Username*  and  Password*  , is mandatory for submitting works, as well as for monitoring the ongoing editorial process:

          Register  a new account.

Verification of submissions' compliance with the items listed below is the sole responsibility
of the authors.
The contribution must be original and not previously published, and must not have been
submitted for evaluation/publication in another journal.
Thema Journal accepts papers written in Portuguese, English or Spanish.
