Different types of pruning and application of Hydrogenated Cyanamide in the production of Cabernet sauvignon L.

Abstract

and without the application of hydrogenated cyanamide (H2CN2), in the production of the variety Cabernet Sauvignon L. cultivated in espalier, with spacing of 1.25x2.5m. The design used was a bifactorial (2x2) completely randomized with four treatments and four replications, namely: two types of pruning (Guyot modified and Royat) and Dormex® at 0% and 3% plus 2% of mineral oil. Variables evaluated: sprouting index (ib), fertility index (if), the number and mass of clusters.plant-1, production.ha-1, leaf area - AF/ bunch mass ratio and 0Brix. The different types of pruning responded to the applications of H2CN2, providing an increase in FA, ib, number and mass of clusters per plant and production.ha-1, without affecting the 0Brix. H2CN2 was more efficient for the ib of the sticks than in the spurs, the best answer for if, was in pruning in Guyot modified with H2CN2 and the lowest in Royat pruning without H2CN2. Pruning in modified Guyot with application of H2CN2 did not differ from pruning in Royat, in terms of productive aspects, indicating that it is an option for modifying the pruning system and renewing the plant's arms.
