Abstract

The Games of the Federal Institute of Paraná (JIFPR) is a sporting event held between students from the various campuses of the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), which has existed for over a decade. This study aimed to understand the trajectory and characteristics of the JIFPR since the first edition held in 2010. To this end, documentary sources were analyzed - news, articles, publications and regulations - obtained through publications on the pages of the IFPR, from the JIFPR and on the Google search site using the descriptors "Games of the Federal Institute of Paraná", "JIFPR", "JIFPR + year" and "Regulation JIFPR + year". The research revealed: the insufficiency of studies on the event; the growth of the event with each edition, both in terms of the number of participating campuses and the number of students; the principles underlying the organization are anchored in democratization, integration, building values ​​and education. It is concluded that the JIFPR is an already consolidated event that reflects the institutional policy in its principles, purposes and conceptions presented in the documents advocating the whole formation of students.
