Our objective was to analyze the perception of teachers about the non-presential activities (ANP) carried out during the social isolation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC), which opted for ANP and the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do South (IFRS), which suspended its formal activities during the initial period of the pandemic. An online form was applied and the responses of 283 teachers were analyzed (IFRS: 147; IFSC: 136). Despite the different institutional decisions, very different responses from the professors of both institutions were not noticed in most of the questions. Most teachers expressed their support for the ANP and sought to be trained to better face the new situation. Teachers sought solid ways to train themselves didactically and pedagogically for the application of non-presential teaching, as well as to communicate effectively with their students. We conclude that learning with the ANP will provide a solid basis for a new type of teacher/student interaction, enhancing the use of emerging technologies in the application of activities and extending communication through the media to available social applications.
