Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the experience of students from technical courses integrated into high school about remote education, established since the beginning of the new coronavirus pandemic, in 2020. The study was carried out with students and graduates of Technician courses in Occupational Safety and Food Technician at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rondônia (IFRO) – Campus Jaru. Data collection was performed using an electronic form with 13 closed questions for 296 students. Through the results, it was observed that most students, even classifying the quality of remote education as "good", consider the essential of the physical presence of the teacher in their learning, preferring classroom teaching. It was also found that most interviewees did not consider themselves fully prepared for the National Secondary Education Examination (ENEM) due to difficulties presented during distance learning. It is concluded that not only schools, but society as a whole, must seek ways to deal with the health crisis with resilience and, at the same time, strive for quality education in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
