Abstract

Science teaching is a challenge that requires teachers to choose efficient strategies, which is the focus paper: the development of a game as a teaching strategy. This is a qualitative exploratory research, which comprises elements of field experiment and action research. The study was applied in two Elementary classes, one in the ninth grade of a school located in the city of Caxias do Sul and another in the fourth grade, in a public State school, also located in Caxias do Sul. The experiment consisted in a card game with roleplaying games (RPG) elements focused on teaching rational consumption. By the end of the study a questionnaire was applied aiming at assessing the acceptance of the game among the students. The students were engaged in the proposal, evidencing the applicability of games or activities containing game elements into the classroom in order to stimulate Sciences learning.
