https://periodicos.ifsul.edu.br/index.php/thema/article/view/3553

This study is a qualitative research conducted from a social constructionist perspective in a small town in Pernambuco's Agreste region. It aims to understand and analyze the construction of meaning about mental health by Primary Care female users. The sample consisted of ten women who use mental health services. The results and discussion are organized into three lines of analysis: 1) Meaning-making about mental health; 2) Mental health care in Basic Health Units; and 3) The role of psychology and its interventions within the community. The findings reveal that mental health care in Primary Care is primarily shaped by medicalization and the delegation of demands to specialists as central care strategies. Additionally, they highlight possibilities of fragmentation and lack of network coordination, emphasizing the need for attentive listening and validation of users' life stories, potentials, and vulnerabilities within Primary Care spaces.
Arlane Ferreira de Moraes Juliana Catarine Barbosa da Silva

This article addresses symbolic violence and its effects on the construction of ethnic identity, drawing on the character Federico in Paulo Scott's novel Marrom e Amarelo (Brown and Yellow). It highlights the importance of literature in reflecting on racial issues and in re-signifying ethnic identity. Contemporary black authors are seeking space for their narratives, bringing visibility to experiences that are not only subaltern, but also tragic and traumatic. Literary criticism plays a fundamental role in this process, as it emphasizes narratives that avoid stereotypes and highlights how racism produces not only material inequalities but also profound psychological scars. The research method applied is qualitative, utilizing close reading and heuristic analysis. Based on a post-colonial approach, this article aims to identify scenes that illustrate symbolic violence in the work, as well as to understand its effects on the identity of the character Federico. The analysis aims to demonstrate how literature offers an in-depth perception of the affections and conflicts experienced by black individuals in Brazilian society.
Ederson de Oliveira CabralDaniel ConteBarbara Paiva

https://periodicos.ifsul.edu.br/index.php/thema/article/view/3576

The article presents the results of a study investigating how language games can support the development of phonological skills in young children. A didactic sequence was designed based on the theoretical frameworks of Soares and Morais. The study employed a qualitative, participatory research approach in a class of 4- and 5-year-old students. Data were collected through diagnostic evaluations, the implementation of the didactic sequence, the researcher's logbook entries, and video recordings of the sessions. The data analysis followed the principles of Content Analysis, with pre-defined categories: lexical awareness and syllabic awareness. Results suggest that language games structured according to Soares and Morais’ guidelines foster the development of phonological skills. Through play, children reflect on words, thereby enhancing their literacy process.
Rafaela Bisognin DiasLuiz Marcelo DarrozCleci Teresinha Werner da Rosa

https://periodicos.ifsul.edu.br/index.php/thema/article/view/3135

In this study we aim to understand, from an interdisciplinary perspective, how possibilities based on experimental activities emerge in teaching. For this purpose, the female research subjects are teachers with a degree in Science Education who work with Basic Education in the city of Rio Grande/RS. The research corpus consisted of memory records and a semi-structured interview and was analyzed using Discursive Textual Analysis. Teachers were selected based on two criteria: participation in the II Online Teacher Training Course on Science Fairs and Exhibitions and in meetings of the extension project “Science Fair: Integrating Knowledge in the Cordão Litorâneo”. From this perspective of problematizing study and analysis, we propose as a central argument that the possibilities in teaching, through experimental activities in an interdisciplinary perspective, arise from investigative activities through themes proposed by students. Therefore, the topics suggested by the students challenge teachers to seek knowledge that goes beyond their formal education.
Daiane Rattmann Magalhães PirezRafaele Rodrigues de Araujo
